  • Cleaning: The cotton velvet upper can be gently cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth, avoiding harsh detergents and hot water. Do not fully submerge them in water.
  • Drying: Allow to air dry, inserting absorbent paper if necessary. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to preserve the color and integrity of the fibers.
  • Finishing: Once completely dry, gently brush the velvet with a special velvet brush to restore its softness.

How to Measure Your Child's Foot

  1. Place a sheet of paper against a wall and have your child stand on it with their heel touching the wall.
  2. Trace the outline of their foot, marking the heel and the tip of the longest toe.
  3. Measure the distance between these two points in centimeters.
  4. Add 0.5 cm to the measurement for comfort.

Fit Note: Piedàterre Venezia Mary Jane flats run generous. We recommend sizing down one size from your child's usual size.

About the Brand

Piedàterre Venezia has made Venetian slippers, known as Friulane, since 1952, when a cart of handmade pairs first took its place on the Rialto Bridge. The cart stayed for forty years before becoming the Piedàterre shop at Rialto, the first in Venice devoted entirely to this one shoe. Friulane began as post-war ingenuity in Friuli, built from velvet and rubber bicycle tires, and grew into a Venetian classic.

Today Piedàterre makes them the same way it always has: entirely in Italy, from natural cotton velvet, stitched by hand without glue and with no outsourcing. Its artisans are trained in-house, and its mission is preservation rather than reinvention. Every pair is made to be lived in rather than to impress: comfortable, breathable and built to last.
